1918 KHAKI CAMP UNIFORM... 4 PIECES

BLOOMERS, MIDDY TOP, SKIRT, HAT

VERY RARE, and VERY FUN to wear. It has been altered to fit my use, and it was an annual affair for me to wear it the last day of each session at summer camp. Perhaps my alterations might fit your need, or it could be put back to the original for museum display. Let me explain:

Hat is original and intact. You can still see the GS imprint, Shows some tiny spots of soiling. No holes.

Middy Blouse is original and intact. NO Holes. Girl Scout label as shown - third picture. Has the "Girl Scout of the USA" imprint still visible on the underside of the fabric indicating lack of washing. Sailor-collar has "Khaki GS Corner Squares" in the two corners; 4 GSUSA buttons on the sleeves. Measures approximately 20 inches across the shoulders, 24 inches across the armpits, and 25 inches shoulder to hem. No alterations. This fabric is still sturdy and clean. NO HOLES.

As you would expect, the bloomers and skirt are very adjustable to several sizes from a Size 10 to 16 in todays wardrobe:

Bloomers: Original GSUSA tag still attached - 6th picture.They have been extended at the waist with a 4 inch piece of elastic. I used the original hook and eye catch. Easily removed, and can be restored with the original hook and eye.FIVE pleats in the front and six in the back and one GSUSA button at the side opening.I washed it by hand when necessary. It is sturdy and clean. No holes.

SKIRT: Did not have a waistband which was common when the blouse was worn over the top. The 3.5 inch pieces you see on theinside are to reinforce the pockets, and they are original to this piece. It was common at the time, and was a sign of a well made garment. I added an elastic band all the way around the waist for comfort. I did not remove anything. I added three Velcro tabs down the front so that I could WHIP OFF THE SKIRT to show the girls that, "now I could play basketball or volleyball or any other outdoor event in comfort. And, I wouldnt get in trouble for getting my skirt dirty!" There are a few small spots on the skirt.
